Enchanted Map Oracle: Divine Protection

I find myself most often asking this deck "Where am I?" or "Where will I find myself...?" questions, which I guess makes sense since the deck has the word "Map" in the title.

This evening I asked the cards where I would find myself this week, as a result of the efforts (and lack of) I've made, physically and mentally, leading up to the present time.  I drew Protecting Treasure.  Reading those two words made me automatically think of my children. But somehow it didn't seem right.  So I opened the book and read that this card is more about me being protected, rather than my protecting something or someone else. What a novel idea.

"You are always protected and Divinely directed... Guardian angels and other guides are whispering to you, making you aware of their protective presence... Take refuge under an angel's wing. You are not alone and  have no need to fear..."

Those are the excerpts from the book that stood out for me tonight, as I have just finished reading Sonia Choquette's wonderful book, Ask Your Guides, which is all about connecting with your angels and guides. Perhaps this week I will connect on a deeper level with some of my divine friends.

The image on this card is a really comforting one for me, as one of my favorite things in the world is rain, and also umbrellas.  And I adore the magical sight of red and white toadstools.  The way the woman is curled up under the umbrella reminds me of a conversation I had with my kids this morning. We were talking about how cold it was here, and I said I wouldn't mind being a bear and hibernating for the winter, tucked up in a cozy enclosed cave and sleeping for months. Ever since I was a kid, I've always slept most comfortably curled up in fetal position. So seeing this woman, curled up, under the dry protection of the umbrella, feels really cozy to me. I look forward to opening up more to my guides this week, and recognizing how I'm being protected and where I'm led to next.

That's an interesting card Kiki. I like that she holds the umbrella, suggesting that you're in a position to protect and look after what is important. Also, with the crown exposed to the elements, posessions and material things seem to be less of a priority than the physical self, so I'd say that thinking about your kids was along the right track. I love the rain too - how it looks, how it smells, how it feels on your face.

Great eye, Steve, picking up that crown in such a small image scan! ;) I love your observation of how the crown isn't protected from the elements.
