Instead of doing a daily draw today, I wanted to prepare for the new year quickly approaching.
New Year Spread
1. What I should leave behind me when the new year arrives.
2. What I should take with me in the new year.
3. What I have to look forward to in the coming year.

1. What I should leave behind me when the new year arrives.
Seven of Swords
This card represents something I need to release as it does not serve in my best interests. What I see in this card is a small gathering of people whispering, seemingly up to no good. They are either scheming or gossiping. This is the sort of negativity I need to leave behind. While I'm not really interesting enough to do a whole lot of scheming, I can translate this card to mean pettiness, and fretting over the small, irritating things in life. I need to not get worked up over things that don't mean anything in the grand scheme of things. Hey, there's my scheme theme! I have, I believe, become better at letting things slide off my back, instead of dwelling on them. This card is telling me that I still have a little more of this to release, to improve the quality of my life.
2. What I should take with me in the new year.
Ace of Cups
This card represents something that I've been doing that is working, and that I should continue. Whenever I see the Ace of Cups, the first word that comes to mind is Love. I can't help it. There are hearts on the cup, which add to that feeling. There are also blossoming flowers, and the cup appears to issuing water like a fountain. There is a lot of abundance in this card. So what I need to take with me into next year is all that I have learned about prosperity and abundance mentality. Also, the love and gratitude for all that is going beautifully for me in my life.
3. What I have to look forward to in the coming year.
Three of Cups
This card gives me a little sneak peek of what's to come this year. I have to be honest, and the first thing I saw in this card was the woman unmasking the man. I wonder if my mystery man will be revealed to me in 2010. While all the love stuff has died down in my cards, it's the first thing that popped into my head, so I'll go with it.
I have extremely high hopes for the year ahead, in many areas of my life. I am really looking forward to improving myself in several ways this year.

Giving you a big virtual hug, Kiki. You really inspired me to do offer readings via e-mail. Thank you for your help when I emailed you weeks ago.

Happy New Year! I love the content on your blog, so keep it coming.
3 cards are so flexible and past-present-future variations works so well . It's nice to have a focus and put the cards into the context for the year. I'll post my outcome as well :).
Cheers, Nicole
