Daily Draw - The Wisest, Ten of Wands and King of Chalices

This morning as I finished shuffling, a card turned over face up on top of the deck as though I had just performed a magic trick. It was The Wisest (Hierophant). I then proceeded to cut the deck and pull my daily two cards, the Ten of Wands and King of Chalices. So today I have a Major, a Minor and a Court card.

I read these cards purely intuitively today, paying no mind to the traditional meanings of the cards, because a personal meaning came to me so instantly and clearly. What jumped out at me was the matching rings in the Ten of Wands and King of Chalices. The fey carries her ring on a necklace and the King has his like a crown or halo on his head. These immediately reminded me of the spyglass from the movie The Spiderwick Chronicles. (My son has watched that movie about 87 times during the past week.) In the movie, there is a ring which allows one to see creatures such as goblins, which are otherwise invisible to the human eye. Because I drew two cards featuring similar rings, it has prompted me to think there is something I am not seeing, but need to. (Also, when I first saw the King of Chalice, the first word that popped into my head was "Seer") Adding The Wisest to the group, and I see his third eye visible, but closed, indicating further something that I am not seeing.

I think I know what this is regarding, and it is something I need to look within for answers to. It is indeed something I have, until now, opted to look at through rose-colored glasses. But now I see that this isn't the best approach to this particular issue, and I need to open my eyes to the truth of the situation. The Ten of Wands confirms that there is a heaviness that needs to be dealt with rather than ignored. The Wisest popping up seemed to emphasize the importance of this, and says to me that this subject is something I would be wise to give some serious thought to.

I love that king of Chalices card. I have the Fey but have not yet used it much. But that card is a firm favourite. Great colours. And I love how you drew attention to the rings. Great spot!

Thanks Steve! I have mixed feelings about the Fey deck. I love the art but just didn't click with the deck like I had hoped I would. Maybe it's just not the right time. I'll definitely hang onto it and try working with it again in the future.

What an intriguing reading! I really like how you focused on the rings and then saw the connection with the (closed) third eye. Nice one! I also like how that deck gives the Wisest a third eye -- it's not an aspect of the Hierophant that I would expect, but then it makes perfect sense when closed off.

Thanks Nette! :) I really like The Wisest card in this deck. I'm not a fan of the traditional Hierophant card, so this is a very friendly and feel-good take on the card.

What's great for me, Kiki, is that my eye is getting sharper and sharper. When I looked at these three cards, before reading your post, I noticed the roundnesses/circle shapes that occur in each (the base of the hourglass for the Wisest, orange for the 10, and chalice-thing for the King).

While this wasn't the same as what was relevant for you, still, I caught SOMETHING that played out across all the cards.

Also, I've had a few readings for myself lately where AS SOON AS I pulled the cards, I got it. Intuitive and immediate--and sometimes ridiculously funny.

For example, did you know that in MY world, the box that the the Seven of Cups artist (Deviant Moon) is sitting on is the same box that the Ten of Swords guy is trapped in?

And that it's that darned Page of Swords, all self-righteous and clear-sighted, who found the Ten and ran him through??

I find I'm reading more slowly and drinking more deeply of your posts at the moment. But someday I will meet you in the present.

Hugs,
jme

Reading through this again, I am made smarter (over and over!) by reading your own readings. Brilliant.
