This morning I drew the Knight of Bells (Pentacles). The thing that stood out for me was the squirrel. I immediately thought of the red squirrel in the Animal Messages oracle deck. I recently ordered this oracle for my son's upcoming birthday. The supposed deck/book "set" arrived missing the book, and also missing two of the cards. (Warning! Shop at your own risk: BookCloseouts.com) So I ordered the set again, this time from Amazon,
which will hopefully arrive in time. The Red Squirrel is one of the cards that I do have from my first order, though I don't know what elaboration the book offers. The key phrase on the card states: Gather your resources now, for they will sustain you through coming change.
That sounds pretty darned appropriate for the ever-dependable Knight of Pentacles!
The Knight of Bells actually has personal meaning for me today, which I won't go into here. It addresses a mental conversation I had with my spirit guides last night. I'll just say that it's a very clear sign that they heard me!
Decks: Fairy Tarot and Animal Messages

I had the same thing happen to me recently. I ordered a deck for my daughter (Selena Lin's Manga Tarot) from a merchant on amazon. It was advertised as "new and in perfect condition," and when I received it, it was obviously used, the book was missing, as well as one card. I sent it back and they are supposed to be sending me another one. We'll see whether they hold to their end of the bargain.
I think I'll order my decks at full price (or close to it) from now on. It's worth spending the extra money to be sure of what you're getting. Trying to land amazing deals on Tarot decks is risky business!
Oh, I hope you receive a complete replacement. You didn't have to pay for shipping back to them did you?
I was surprised, because it was a company/website that I ordered from, not an ebay or marketplace seller. So I wouldn't have guessed a company would send out an incomplete set.
I still like searching out bargains, though. I love finding a good deal, it's like the thrill of the chase, ya know? To me, that's part of the fun sometimes. I mean, when you find a new, shrink-wrapped deck/book set for less than $2, when it's regularly priced at $25, that's a pretty cool feeling!! :)
I've only received two bad deals so far. This one, and one from an ebay seller...where the deck arrived reeking of cigarette smoke. (Though I did get a refund from the ebay seller, and am waiting on a supposed refund from BookCloseouts)
I only paid 15 cents for mine! Plus $4 shipping. It was a deal that I couldn't pass up, since my daughter loves manga. The company did pay for return shipping, and will pay shipping to send the (hopefully) new deck to me, so they really lost out by sending something other than what they advertised. I thought it might be a deal too good to be true, But they had received a lot of positive feedback on amazon.
I'll probably find another deal too good to resist eventually, and I'll take the risk again.
15 cents...Now that's a deal!!! :)
